SUMMARY:Trout Derby at Lake Gregory
DESCRIPTION:Experience a day on the lake with a high-energy day of fishing\, fresh mountain air and friendly competition on the water as The Lake Gregory Company hosts its second annual trout derby on Saturday\, April 18\, from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with first\, second and third place prizes of $1\,000\, $500 and $250 for top winners of all ages. \nFor the derby\, the lake will be stocked with 1\,700 pounds of trout\, including rainbow trout\, lightning trout\, plus 300 pounds of trophy-size fish. \nThis community event is open to all ages and a state fishing license is required for ages over 16. The derby will be held rain or shine and no refund will be issued. \nRegister for the derby online at lakegregory.com/fishing before 9 p.m. on Friday\, April 17. The entry fee is $39.10 per person. \nIs there a special prize category for kids?\nYES\, a special Kids’ Division with prizes for participants ages 15 and under will be offered for this group. To qualify for this category\, anglers must be 15 years old or younger on the day of the event and hold a valid derby ticket. \nThe winner in this division will be determined by the longest trout caught within the age group during official derby hours. \n\nKids Category Prizes (Ages 15 and under):\n1st Place:Bait & Tackle Gift Card\, Rod & Reel + Tackle Box Combo & 4 Beach All Access Passes\n2nd Place: Bait & Tackle Gift Card & Rod & Reel + Tackle Box Combo\n3rd Place: Bait & Tackle Merch & Tackle Box\n\nDerby Schedule \n\n5:30 a.m.:Check-in will take place at one of the designated check-in stations (detailed instructions will be provided at a later date).\n7 a.m.:Fishing begins with a “shotgun start” signaled by the patrol boat’s horn\, initiated by the rangers.\n1 p.m.:Fishing cut-off time for all anglers.\n1-1:30 p.m.:Final fish measurements at Bait & Tackle Measuring Station located at 24560 San Moritz Drive\, Crestline\, CA 92325.\nTo enter the derby at the measurement station\, participants aged 16 and older must present proof of ticket purchase\, a valid fishing license\, and photo ID.
