DESCRIPTION:Join us for a festive\, family-friendly adventure the whole family will enjoy! During our Candy Cane Hunt\, kids can search the park for hidden candy canes — just like an Easter egg hunt\, but with a sweet holiday twist and before the hunt participants will be taken on a nature walk to hear the story of why the Candy Cane Hunt is needed. \nCandy Cane Hunt will be at 11:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. \nLittle explorers will have a blast spotting candy canes while enjoying the wintery outdoors. It’s a fun way to celebrate the season\, spark excitement\, and share a little holiday magic. \nThis activity is great for all ages and encourages curiosity\, joy\, and outdoor fun. Come hunt\, laugh\, and celebrate the spirit of the season with treats waiting around every corner! All supplies will be provided while they last. SUMMARY:Trout Derby at Mojave Narrows
DESCRIPTION:Join Regional Parks on Saturday\, March 7\, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for our annual trout derby at Mojave Narrows Regional Park. Gates open at 6:30 a.m. and pre-paid derby fees are encouraged. Derby fees are $20 per person and $15 per vehicle. A fishing license is required for all participants ages 16 years and older. \nParticipants will receive a wristband and packet with derby entry forms and rules. The derby is rain or shine\, and no refunds will be given. \nRegional Parks will have a weigh-in station available and encourage participants to allow plenty of time to weigh and enter their fish prior to the 1 p.m. cutoff time. \nDerby cash prizes will be awarded for: \n\nFirst place: $1\,000\nSecond place: $500\nThird place: $250\n\nWinners do not need to be present to claim their prize(s). Winners will be announced at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the Regional Parks weigh-in station area. \nREGISTRATION \nTo pre-pay vehicle and derby fees\, visit the reservation website. \nTrout is stocked weekly on Thursdays with 830 pounds of trout. For the derby\, 1\,660 lbs. of trout\, including lightning trout\, will be stocked on Friday\, March 6. The lakes will be closed to public fishing on Friday\, March 6\, and will reopen to the public after the derby ends. \nTRAFFIC LANE CLOSURE \nTo help mitigate the flow of traffic into the park\, the left-hand lane at the intersection of Yates and Park roads to enter the park traveling eastbound will be closed. Access into the park will be from the westbound direction only allowing a right-turn into the park. Lane closure signs will be posted along the road. DESCRIPTION:This Easter\, Regional Parks is excited to host a new activity giving the entire family an opportunity to participate together in a scavenger hunt following clever clues and solving playful riddles at stations located throughout the park. The scavenger hunt activity replaces the traditional Easter egg hunts and baskets or bags are no longer needed. \nThe morning scavenger hunt time is 11 a.m. on Sunday\, April 5\, at all the participating parks below: \n\nCucamonga-Guasti: 800 N. Archibald Ave.\, Ontario\nGlen Helen: 2555 Glen Helen Pkwy.\, San Bernardino\nMojave Narrows: 18000 Yates Road\, Victorville\nPrado: 16700 S. Euclid Ave.\, Chino\nYucaipa: 33900 Oak Glen Road\, Yucaipa\n\nThe duration depends on each participant and how fast the clues are found to crack the Bunny Code word. \n CRACK THE BUNNY CODE \nTo get started\, participants will receive one clue card with the first riddle that will lead them to the first location. Each location will have a sign with a QR code that once scanned\, will reveal another clue and location. Each QR code also reveals a letter. At the end of the hunt\, all the letters will reveal the Bunny’s secret code word. The first 140 participants to Crack the Bunny Code for each time slot at each park will receive a goodie prize. Prizes are limited on a first come\, first-served basis. \nA Smart phone with a QR code scanning feature is needed. If a participant does not have access to a Smart phone to scan a QR code\, paper copies of the clues are available at the gatehouse upon request. There are 11 stations total and the code word contains 11 letters. \nThe morning and afternoon hunts will have different letters and clues. \nFIND THE GOLDEN EGG \nOne Golden will be hidden somewhere in each participating park between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Find the egg and win an Easter basket. \nAll ages are welcome! SUMMARY:Mojave Narrows Barn & Corral Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Regional Parks is excited to announce the completion of the new equestrian facilities at Mojave Narrows Regional Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday\, April 30\, at 11 a.m. Free park admission will be offered for visitors from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to join the celebration and tour the new barn\, corrals and arena area. Light refreshments will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nThe project upgrades include a prefabricated equestrian with horse stalls and storage room for tack and feed\, water and electrical conduits\, corrals\, spectator seating\, lighting and Public Address (PA) system in the arena area\, as well as new water troughs and hitching posts. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)\, the project broke ground in January 2025\, at a cost of approximately $1.6 million. \nRegional Parks Director Beahta Davis says the new equestrian facility supports the department’s mission to invest in and preserve cultural and historical park resources. \n“I am excited about this new amenity\, and the department is looking forward to increased programs and activities for the equestrian community\,” said Davis. \nThe revitalization of Mojave Narrows Regional Park aligns with the Countywide Vision by connecting and beautifying communities through shared open spaces.
