DESCRIPTION:San Bernardino County Regional is excited to commemorate the fourth annual California Days event at Calico Ghost Town over Presidents’ Day weekend on Feb. 15-16\, 2025\, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event celebrates early California history with a focus on California’s admission to the union as the nation’s 31st state on Sept. 9\, 1850\, and celebrated on February 22nd every year. \nThis family-friendly event highlights the people and culture of early California by hosting family activities\, gunfighter shows by the Calico Mountain Volunteer Gunfighters\, butter churning\, and reenactments along with educational displays on the state’s Bear Flag\, Pony Express Trail\, and Butterfield Overland Trail. \nServing as a natural backdrop to the Old West\, Calico will travel back in time with a \nLive music from popular artists such as Rose’s Pawnshop\, The Storytellers and Southern Spirit Band as well as Calico favorites\, Blacksmith Boys\, High D Boys and Orange Town Revival will be bring the town alive. Other entertainment includes the Victorian Muse Theater at the Town Hall and classroom reenactment sessions from the 1800s at the schoolhouse as well as some Wild West street skits performed by the “Scoundrels Alley” Calico troupe. \nThe popular Dorsey Dog Delivery Game also returns and is a doggie scavenger hunt where owners and their furry friends search for clues throughout town to win the ultimate prize of a treat goodie bag and first-place ribbon from Dorsey’s Dog House. \nEventgoers can enjoy our fair-style food lineup with for very hungry appetites\, will be open. DESCRIPTION:Regional Parks is excited to welcome back the one-day trout derby with our second event scheduled on Saturday\, March 8\, 2025\, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mojave Narrows Regional Park. Gates open at 6:30 a.m. and pre-paid derby fees are encouraged. Derby fees are $20 per person and $10 per vehicle. A fishing license is required for all participants ages 16 years and older. \nParticipants will receive a wristband and packet with derby entry forms and rules. The derby is rain or shine and no refunds will be given. \nRegional Parks will have a weigh-in station available and encourages participants to allow plenty of time to weigh and enter their fish prior to the 1 p.m. cutoff time. \nDerby cash prizes will be awarded for: \n\nFirst place: $1\,000\nSecond place: $500\nThird place: $250\n\nWinners do not need to be present to claim their prize(s). Winners do not need to be present to claim their prize(s). Winners will be announced at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the Regional Parks weigh-in station area. \nTo pre-pay\, scan the QR code on the flier or visit the reservation website. \nMojave Narrows Regional Park is located at 18000 Yates Rd. in Victorville. DESCRIPTION:San Bernardino County Regional Parks is now accepting applications online for lifeguards and pool managers for the 2025 swim season at Glen Helen and Yucaipa Regional Parks’ swim facilities\, which starts Memorial Day weekend. A hiring event will be held on Saturday\, Mar. 29 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Regional Parks administration office located at 268 W. Hospitality Ln. in San Bernardino. The event will accept walk-in applicants for interviews and potential same day offers. \nLifeguards are responsible for protecting the public against accidents in the swim facilities\, properly administering first aid/CPR if an accident should take place\, and properly maintaining and operating pool\, waterslide\, and park equipment. \nPool managers are responsible for training\, leading and supervising lifeguards; and ensuring customers adhere to pool rules while maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times. Pool managers conduct opening and closing procedures\, review the daily slide checks\, waterslide Maintenance Log documentation\, and maintain a fun\, safe environment. \nSalary \nLifeguards can earn anywhere from $17 to $19 an hour\, depending on experience (DOE) and pool managers can earn from $22 to $25 an hour\, DOE. \nCertification requirements \n\nApplicants must possess or be in the process of obtaining an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent.\nApplicants must possess or be in the process of obtaining CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)\, First Aid\, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certifications. Reimbursements for certifications may be provided by the department.\n\nMinimum requirements \nLIFEGUARD: Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Note: An approved work permit will be required prior to the first day of employment if under the age of 18. \nPOOL MANAGER: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older and possess a minimum of four years of lifeguard experience. DESCRIPTION:Rain or shine Regional Parks is excited to host its annual Easter eggstravaganza hunts on Sunday\, April 20\, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Join us for the egg hunt and get a photo op with the Easter bunny at Cucamonga-Guasti\, Glen Helen\, Mojave Narrows\, Prado and Yucaipa Regional Parks. Note: the duration of the egg hunts depends on attendance and how fast the eggs are found (while supplies last). All ages are welcome! \nThe bonus golden egg hunt offers participants a chance to find a hidden golden egg during the egg hunts at either 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Find the golden egg and win an Easter basket. Two basket prizes are available at each park. Golden eggs must be turned in before 5 p.m. at the gatehouse to claim the basket. \nParticipating Parks \n\nCucamonga-Guasti: 800 N.
