All ages are welcome. \nAdmission is $10 per vehicle and free for those camping with us. Make a day out of this educational event and pack a picnic or come and enjoy a day of fishing at our lake or enjoy our new playground and splash pad. SUMMARY:Trout Derby at Mojave Narrows
DESCRIPTION:Regional Parks is excited to welcome back the one-day trout derby with our second event scheduled on Saturday\, March 8\, 2025\, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mojave Narrows Regional Park. Gates open at 6:30 a.m. and pre-paid derby fees are encouraged. Derby fees are $20 per person and $10 per vehicle. A fishing license is required for all participants ages 16 years and older. \nParticipants will receive a wristband and packet with derby entry forms and rules. The derby is rain or shine and no refunds will be given. \nRegional Parks will have a weigh-in station available and encourages participants to allow plenty of time to weigh and enter their fish prior to the 1 p.m. cutoff time. \nDerby cash prizes will be awarded for: \n\nFirst place: $1\,000\nSecond place: $500\nThird place: $250\n\nWinners do not need to be present to claim their prize(s). Winners do not need to be present to claim their prize(s). Winners will be announced at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the Regional Parks weigh-in station area. \nTo pre-pay\, scan the QR code on the flier or visit the reservation website. \nMojave Narrows Regional Park is located at 18000 Yates Rd. in Victorville. Park hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is closed on Christmas Day. \nTrout is stocked weekly on Thursdays with 747 pounds of trout. For the derby\, 1\,315 lbs. of trout\, including lightning trout\, will be stocked on Friday\, March 7. The lakes will be closed to public fishing on Friday\, March 7 and will reopen to the public after the derby ends. \nFor stocking dates\, fishing license information\, visit Regional Parks website.

DESCRIPTION:FREE PARK ADMISSION AT GLEN HELEN REGONAL PARK on Thursday\, March 20\, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Join San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and Regional Parks as we break ground on the nature playground located on the large lake island. Stick around and enjoy the park after the ceremony on us (the lakes will be stocked this day so unfortunately fishing will not be available).\n\n\n\nThe new playground will offer more than 10\,500 square feet of play area and will feature two (2) zip lines\, four (4) slides\, swings and more. The playground will also be ADA accessible for kids of all ages. Ample seating areas will be placed all around the lake.

SUMMARY:Lifeguard Hiring Event
DESCRIPTION:San Bernardino County Regional Parks is now accepting applications online for lifeguards and pool managers for the 2025 swim season at Glen Helen and Yucaipa Regional Parks’ swim facilities\, which starts Memorial Day weekend. A hiring event will be held on Saturday\, Mar. 29 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Regional Parks administration office located at 268 W. Hospitality Ln. in San Bernardino. The event will accept walk-in applicants for interviews and potential same day offers. \nLifeguards are responsible for protecting the public against accidents in the swim facilities\, properly administering first aid/CPR if an accident should take place\, and properly maintaining and operating pool\, waterslide\, and park equipment. \nPool managers are responsible for training\, leading and supervising lifeguards; and ensuring customers adhere to pool rules while maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times. Pool managers conduct opening and closing procedures\, review the daily slide checks\, waterslide Maintenance Log documentation\, and maintain a fun\, safe environment. \nSalary \nLifeguards can earn anywhere from $17 to $19 an hour\, depending on experience (DOE) and pool managers can earn from $22 to $25 an hour\, DOE. \nCertification requirements \n\nApplicants must possess or be in the process of obtaining an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent.\nApplicants must possess or be in the process of obtaining CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)\, First Aid\, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certifications. Reimbursements for certifications may be provided by the department.\n\nMinimum requirements \nLIFEGUARD: Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Note: An approved work permit will be required prior to the first day of employment if under the age of 18. \nPOOL MANAGER: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older and possess a minimum of four years of lifeguard experience.
