SUMMARY:Bear Necessities at Glen Helen
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Yucaipa Regional Park on Saturday\, March 14\, from 2-3:30 p.m. as we explore some “beary” important safety tips and tricks when a bear is nearby and how identify the different types of bears native to our region.\n\n\n\nForget about your worries and your strife when you learn some “paws-itively” wild facts about bears native to North America. We will also talk just how to respect to our furry wildlife neighbors.\n\nIt’s a fun way to learn about bear biology and just how necessary the conservation is when recreating outdoors. Plus\, we will conduct a field experiment. Join us!\n\n\n\nAdmission is $15 per vehicle.All ages are welcome\, including leashed pets. All supplies will be provided while they last.\n\n\n\nPark hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.\n\nBring the whole family\, pack a lunch and explore the great outdoors before or after the activity.

DESCRIPTION:EVENT UPDATE: We have reached capacity on registrations. Thank you for your interest. We hope to see you next year!\n\nRegional Parks along with Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca\, Jr. invites youth ages 7-16 the opportunity to connect with nature and learn how to fish on Saturday\, March 28\, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Glen Helen Regional Park. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged. \n\n\n \n\n\nREGISTER CLOSED\n\n\n\n\n\nThe annual event has grown in participation and impact each year\, offering children hands-on fishing experiences — from identifying different fish species and selecting bait\, to casting lines and learning how to clean and prepare their catch.\n\n\n \n\n\nCheck-in begins at 8 a.m. Vendors will be on-site and free popcorn will be available while supplies last. Every participant will receive a free t-shirt. Please provide shirt size(s) when registering.\n\n\n \n\n\nThe event will also provide free continental breakfast and lunch for participants and their parents or guardians. Fishing supplies will be provided and volunteers will be available to guide participants.\n\n\n \n\n\nThe event is sponsored by Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca\, Jr.\, and the San Bernardino County Regional Parks\, Children and Family Services and Probation departments.
