Calico Ghost Haunt
For the last two weekends in October, Calico Ghost Town brings out the scare, fun and excitement of Halloween. This annual event includes, trick-or-treating, costume contests, pumpkin carving, kids’ carnival tent, live entertainment stage shows, haunted attractions and more.
Weekend I
- Friday, Oct. 18: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 19: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 20: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Weekend II
- Friday, Oct. 25: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 26: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 27: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Halloween Weddings at Calico Ghost Town
The historic Calico Ghost Town is delighted to announce a special collaboration between the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk’s office and the Regional Parks Department to offer exceptional marriage services in a one-of-a-kind setting. This exclusive opportunity allows couples to exchange vows and celebrate their union in the charming, rustic ambiance of Calico Ghost Town.

The Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk is offering this service at Calico on Halloween to shine light on the holiday’s popularity for marriage ceremonies, as it ranks the second busiest day for the County Recorder-County Clerk’s office, allowing couples to celebrate their special day in a uniquely themed setting. This event not only enhances community engagement, but also adds a festive twist to a significant occasion for many.
Interested couples are highly encouraged to RSVP by Friday, October 25 to ensure availability.
- Personalized Ceremony: Our teams have designated a scenic location within Calico Ghost Town for your ceremony, that captures the rustic mining camp and charming old-time streets.
- Historic Setting: Immerse yourself in the rich history of Calico, a well-preserved Old West ghost town that offers a nostalgic backdrop for your special day.
- On-Site Services: Convenient access to county services, including marriage licenses and officiating; and there will also be special Calico Ghost Town vendor amenities available.
- Family and Friends: Invite your friends and family to witness your special event.
- Admission: Daily admission is $8 for adults, $5 for youth (4-11) and children under the age of 3 are free.
- Camping: Camping and rental units subject to availability and can be reserved at www.sbcountyparks.com
Big Morongo Nature Hikes
Join us for a brisk morning guided nature hike through Big Morongo Canyon Preserve on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We will learn about the plant and wildlife habitat along the way.
We will stop for some bird watching if the opportunity presents itself.
Refreshments will be served and we will have giveaways. All ages are welcome. This event is free.
Big Morongo Canyon Preserve is located at Route 62 to East Drive, Morongo Valley. Park hours are 7:30 a.m. to sunset.
