PRADO: Due to current lake conditions, fishing activities at Prado Regional Park are temporarily suspended until further notice. For the safety of our park visitors and protection of the lake environment, guests are asked to refrain from fishing or entering the lake while the suspension is in effect. Park staff will continue to monitor lake conditions. Fishing will resume once conditions are determined to be appropriate for recreational fishing. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation. Please check back for updates on our website regarding the reopening of fishing activities.

San Bernardino County Regional is excited to commemorate the fourth annual California Days event at Calico Ghost Town over Presidents’ Day weekend on Feb. 15-16, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event celebrates early California history with a focus on California’s admission to the union as the nation’s 31st state on Sept. 9, 1850, and celebrated on February 22nd every year.
This family-friendly event highlights the people and culture of early California by hosting family activities, gunfighter shows by the Calico Mountain Volunteer Gunfighters, butter churning, and reenactments along with educational displays on the state’s Bear Flag, Pony Express Trail, and Butterfield Overland Trail.
Serving as a natural backdrop to the Old West, Calico will travel back in time with a
Live music from popular artists such as Rose’s Pawnshop, The Storytellers and Southern Spirit Band as well as Calico favorites, Blacksmith Boys, High D Boys and Orange Town Revival will be bring the town alive. Other entertainment includes the Victorian Muse Theater at the Town Hall and classroom reenactment sessions from the 1800s at the schoolhouse as well as some Wild West street skits performed by the “Scoundrels Alley” Calico troupe.
The popular Dorsey Dog Delivery Game also returns and is a doggie scavenger hunt where owners and their furry friends search for clues throughout town to win the ultimate prize of a treat goodie bag and first-place ribbon from Dorsey’s Dog House.
Eventgoers can enjoy our fair-style food lineup with for very hungry appetites, will be open. All the Calico attractions will be open, including Maggie Mine and the Calico Oddessa Railroad. Attractions are an additional charge. For attraction prices, visit www.calicoattractions.com.
The event is sponsored by Equinox Gold, Mitsubishi Cement Corporation and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers Restaurants. Equinox Gold and Mitsubishi Cement Corp. will be onsite to provide regional mining displays and information materials related to mineral uses in modern consumer products. Raising Cane’s will provide good ol’ fashion fun with games and giveaways. All sponsors are dedicated to supporting local communities through programs and education.
