The Reading of Poe's 'The Raven' by Odessa Dead
Stop by to hear the eloquent reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” by Odessa Dead. This performance is a Calico Ghost Haunt favorite as the backdrop of this reading eerily brings the 1845 narrative poem alive in a supernatural atmosphere.
The Raven tells of a distraught lover who is paid a mysterious visit by a talking raven. The lover, often identified as a student is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. Sitting on a bust of Pallas, the raven seems to further antagonize the narrator with its constant repetition of the word “Nevermore.”
